The significance of the Rathyatra and its spiritual analogy :

A huge celebration all over the world  is the "Rathyatra" रथयात्रा festival. Hundreds of thousands of people participate  and enjoy.

The essence of such Sanatan Dharm (हिन्दू धर्म) is mostly lost even to the revellers /participants.

A question from Nick Picciani from the USA 🇺🇸 a participant on my weekly on - line talk  "SANATAN Science of Living" got me thinking. Ultimately to make double sure I checked with Gurudev Murli Panda Baba as well. What emerged is narrated below :--

The Rathyatra is the wonderful story of beautifully celebrating the journey of life and rebirth.

The rath (chariot) - signifies the human body,

Lord Shri Krishn (Jagannath) is the Kutashth, soul (सगुण ब्रम्ह) present in all beings and rides this chariot (body)   Called NANDIGHOSH (the exclamation of blissful Joyen by Daruk (the Devdar-tree of the devatas) the charioteer

Subhadra  is निवृति (nivarati - abstinence) a विभूति- magical quality of Narayan {as opposed to pravriti (प्रवृति) tendencies of enjoyment of the material - world}. Rides on the chariot named “Darpdalan” meaning destroyer of ego. This is driven by Arjun ( tejas tatva of the body)

Balram is the jivatma (who is trying to stay with the Lord) hence the being. He rides the Chariot named “TALADHWAJ” (meaning or signifying the human spine or the plough - indicating sadhan. This is driven by the omnipresent VASUDEV or the Lord Himself

The rath yatra (life's journey) starts from the abode of the Lord (बैकुण्ठ) and goes to earth 🌍.  (You are born) .

The ropes used for pulling the rath (chariot) are your pranvayu (प्राणवायु) in the shape of pran and apaan.

After a stay (lifetime of the being) at the earth (aunt's House).(life time) : .... The rath returns (death) from the aunt's House (vrindavan) carrying the Lord and His companions back to His abode... The rath is scrapped. (The body dies- is cremated) The wood from the chariots is used in the kitchen fire (cremation)

To be born again (the chariot is recreated out of new wood for the next journey{new body}). For the next life (rath - yatra).

🚩 Sanatan🚩 is a rich religion/culture. It celebrates joyously all of life, all the time and at the core of all such festive celebrations is always inevitably the omnipresent, omniscient Lord in his many manifestations.
